I love kitchen appliances and I've been thinking about getting a bread machine for a while, but haven't made the plunge. So, I guess I'm taking a survey. Do you have one? Is it worth the investment? Does the bread really taste that good? What brand would you recommend? I don't know how big they are, but hopefully it doesn't take up much space since I have no counter space. I even have to store my Kitchenaid Mixer which is so heavy to pull out when I need it. Anyway, I welcome your thoughts and expertise!

We have a bread machine. I love it, but don't use it anymore. The bread would come out so delicious that the whole love would be gone in 30 minutes...usually by me!! I know Lizzie uses one all the time, so she can tell you which one to use. Oh, and the bread would have tons of butter on it, yum!
I just got rid of mine. It took up too much space and though I used it a lot at first it eventually became a dust collector. We were at a friend's for dinner the other night though and she made rolls that looked delicious(but of course I couldn't eat them!). She used the machine to do the mixing and rising and then put them in the oven and I thought that was pretty smart. I was kind of regretting getting rid of mine, but then remembered we don't eat bread anymore...oh well!
Yes, I love my bread machine. I use it all the time. I put the ingredients in, and put it on the dough setting, and take it out and put it in my own loaf pan so I have a beautiful loaf! I think it's important to make your own bread, since there are so many additives in store bread. there are only like 7 ingredients in bread, and the store breads have like 20!!! So bad for us! We only eat whole wheat, and I have a great recipe, and we all love it. I make the rolls, too, just like Sara was saying, only for company, otherwise I would eat them ALL!!! I make our own pizza dough, and everyone loves it! 2 of my very best girlfriends just got a bread machine, and they love theirs! I highly recommend it, if you will use it, otherwise it does take up space........but honestly, there's nothing like a freshly baked loaf of homemade BREAD, and all you did was add ingredients to the pan, press a button, and 3 hours later it was done!
Had a bread machine several years ago. It was great! My husband loved to use it. However....one night he decided to bake it through the night, so we could have fresh bread in the morning. I could not sleep. Felt like I lived in a bakery AND we would eat the whole thing at once. It was yummy!!but were gaining weight :) so bye bye homemade bread machine. We have the best bakery here. When we have company we order hot pretzel rolls....The families favorite. Have a great day!
We used to always get pretzel rolls from the bakery by the old Key Food.. have no idea what's down there now. Yummy! Thanks for everyone's input.
So funny you mention pretzel rolls. When Steve was telling me about his NYC "trip down memory lane" last week I asked him if he got to enjoy one of those delicious pretzel rolls your parents used to always get. Nope. But I was salivating just thinking about them!
