"Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord." Romans 12:11
I love this verse. I memorized it while on a mission trip to Canada, back when I was a youth leader at Bethlehem Church. It was a life changing mission trip. I took a week's vacation to spend it with the teenagers from our church and one in Canada. We worked in soup kitchen, did evangelism in the parks and held special rallies and services. It was quite out of my comfort zone, and quite rewarding. Some people thought I was crazy to spend my precious vacation time on something that was not at all relaxing and with teenagers. (I was about 23 or 24 at the time) It was exhausting for sure, but it was time with God, time for him to work in my life and prepare me for the challenges that were ahead of me.
This verse has been with me ever since and is something I strive for daily. It's easy for people to have zeal or passion for things of this earth (sports, the quest for money, etc.) or for a person...but what about a zeal for the Lord and for serving Him?

I remember when we were little and VBS would roll around, how so many people would take a week's vacation to participate. I always thought, "Why would they want to spend their vacation time doing VBS???" Now, I understand. Thanks for doing your part as well!!
Good verse Beth. Think I'll add that one to memory as well. Love you and miss you tons!
